Admissions Process

The Dog Trainer College utilizes an application process that is as simplified as possible.  The easiest method is to apply online via the application form there.dog1.1  Applications can also be emailed or snail-mailed by request.  Applications that are not made online will require a phone call to collect the application deposit.

One question we hear frequently is about the application deposit.  Using our online application, the deposit is made through Paypal, although no Paypal account is necessary.  The deposit is merely a method that helps us determine who is serious about attending and who isn’t.  There is a lot of preparation and expense that goes into our classes.  We simply cannot reserve a spot for those who are not serious about showing up for class.  Therefore, the application deposit is non-refundable, except in the event we reject the application.  When the student shows up for class, the deposit is applied to the balance remaining for the course enrolled in.  Hence, no funds are lost for those who actually arrive for class.

After your application is received, it will be reviewed by our Admissions staff.  Each applicant will be promptly informed of acceptance or rejection.  Again, the deposit is applied to the tuition once the applicant arrives for class.  Those accepted to join the prestigious group of students at the College will be given a welcome letter with helpful information about the upcoming course applied for.

Those needing financial aid will need to fill out a separate form for Financial Aid Assistance.  The form/s will depend upon which method of financing the applicant desires.  Our staff can assist those veterans who are applying for education benefits from the GI Bill or other education benefits via the Veterans Agency.

Both enrollment and financial aid applications need to be received in our office no later than 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course applied for.  If you know you want to attend, it is usually best to enroll far earlier than the two week deadline.  This ensures your reservation for the course applied for and also helps our staff in dealing with the paperwork.

A payment towards tuition (50%) and lodging (if applicable, 100%) are usually received during the first few days of class and must be paid in US Dollars.  Another payment of the balance can be made three weeks later.  VA benefits will have their own payment schedule.  We currently accept cash, credit/debit card, and personal check for payment.

Once your application/s has been received and accepted, you can begin filling your mind with the grand dream of becoming a certified dog trainer.  We look forward to seeing you at the Dog Trainer College.
