Professional trainer perks

What makes training dogs on a professional level so rewarding?  We’re glad you asked 🙂

Become a Dog Trainer!

First of all, there is the reward of knowing you have completed a job correctly.  The satisfaction of a client evaluation form giving you a “thumbs-up” is a prize in itself.  There is the self-satisfaction of knowing you gave your best, out-did your competition, and sent away a contented client.

Secondly, there is job security.  Government projections indicate that professional dog trainers have the sky as their limit.  Astronomical growth is forecast.  Even in the most recent recession, pet services continued to grow at an unprecedented pace.

There is the financial compensation as well.  Now, no one should expect to become rich overnight – there are those schemes out there.  Yet professional dog trainers receive some comfortable incomes.  Depending upon where you operate your business, $75/hour or more is not being unrealistic.

But the most rewarding aspect of being a certified dog trainer is seeing an unruly dog brought to you with the owners having little to no hope of seeing their dog reformed.  But some weeks later they see their dog totally transformed into a respectable member of society.  And then they confess that bringing their pooch to you was a “last ditch effort.”  Either the dog would be trained or they would take him/her to a shelter, where it would probably be euthanized.  Your training just saved that dog’s life!  Rewarding?  Oh, yea!
